Navneet YADAV has joined Manfred’s team !
Hello, I am Navneet Yadav and have joined Dr. Manfred Heinlein’s team. My broad interest is to study plant-virus interactions during cell-to-cell viral movement.
I come from Mughalsarai, a small town in India.
After my high school education at St. John’s School, Chandauli, I received a government scholarship to study life sciences at the National Institute of Science Education and Research (NISER), Bhubaneswar, where I did my master’s thesis on chromium-induced stress on plant metabolism and development.
My PhD project deals with viral suppression of dsRNA-induced immunity in plants, which plays a vital role during the cell-to-cell spread of virus infection in plants.
I am excited to be here at IBMP because of the interesting research, especially in plant immunity, as the discoveries made here will help me to understand the mechanisms of plant responses to infection by different pathogens. The discoveries can be used to develop tools for plant disease management.
I am eager to contribute to the discoveries in the field of plant-virus interaction while learning different scientific techniques crucial to my research, along with sharpening my soft skills like scientific writing and presentation, as I develop my scientific niche
