ibmp servers

The IBMP has in place three servers for data retention, sharing and automatic MacOS machine backup. Here is the role of each server:

offshore:  enable the platforms to make the results available to the teams.
The few general sharing points are:
Sequencage$ (sequencing results)
pims$ (metabolic results)
evoq$ (EVOQ results)
Bioinfo$ (bioinformatics results)
The data are only available for a limited time sufficient to be retrieved by the researchers.

atlas: the role of this server is to store the most important data of the teams. This is where you store the results of your experiences to share and save with your team members.
This storage space has special specific data protection procedures.

mycore2.ibmp.unistra.fr: The main purpose of this private ownCloud server is to enable the sharing of incoming or outgoing data with external collaborators. It is indeed the only accessible server without the use of VPN.
It also allows automatic synchronization of data between different mobile computers or devices.
This secure server is the most exposed, therefore irrelevant for storing long-term or sensitive data.
The folders you have created and shared will no longer be accessible to anyone after you leave the IBMP (end of active directory access). You should therefore place the data you wish to keep on your team’s permanent ATLAS account before you leave.

timemachine: The purpose of this server is to host TimeMachine backups for MacOS computers.
It is only a security in case of disaster on a computer but in no case a reliable data retention point.
