Ana SEDE : from Buenos Aires to Strasbourg

Welcome to Ana SEDE a biotechnologist who did her doctorate and a first post-doctorate at INGEBI-CONICET (Instituto de Investigaciones en Ingeniería Genética y Biología Molecular) in the group of Dr. Jorge Muschietti.

I’ve been working on deciphering molecular mechanisms of plant fertilization. Specifically, I focused on the study of pollen-specific extensins (LRXs) that are necessary for a proper cell wall assembly during polarized growth of pollen tubes. Over the last years, I became really interested in plant-pathogen interactions so I decided to expand my knowledge in other areas of plant biology.”

Ana arrived at the IBMP at the beginning of August for a second post-doctorate at the laboratory of Manfred Heinlein. She will study plant immune responses triggered by the perception of viral dsRNAs.
