Hi, I’m Benoît Castandet and I just joined Strasbourg and the IBMP this January.

I got my PhD in 2010 at the University of Bordeaux working on mitochondrial gene expression and then moved to the Boyce Thompson Institute (Ithaca, NY, USA) to study chloroplastic RNases. I was recruited as an assistant professor at the Université Paris Cité in 2017 and I’m now a professor at the University of Strasbourg. I’ll be studying the role of RNases in RNA quality control, in both mitochondria and chloroplasts.
