Lauriane GROSS: welcome and congratulations!
Lauriane completed her thesis at the IBMC under the direction of Franck Martin. She investigated the mechanisms of piracy of the host cell translation apparatus by the Cricket Paralysis Virus (CrPV). CrPV is an RNA virus that uses “internal ribosome entry sites” (IRES) to divert the translation machinery from its host and synthesizes its viral proteins. Her study of IRES located in the 5’UTR region of the viral genome earned her the thesis prize of the University of Strasbourg Foundation awarded on March 22 at the Thesis Prize ceremony of the Society of Biology of Strasbourg.
Lauriane joined the IBMP in March 2019. She studies the mechanisms of addressing mRNAs on the surface of mitochondria in Arabidopsis thaliana with Anne-Marie Duchêne.
