Stefan Grob rejoint l’IBMP

Greetings,

I am Stefan Grob, a 42-year-old from Switzerland and a parent to three children. Recently, I joined the IBMP with an ATIP fellowship, which has provided me with the opportunity to establish a new team here in Strasbourg. I would like to thank all of you for the warm welcome!

My academic journey includes earning a PhD in Zurich under the guidance of Ueli Grossniklaus. During this time, I focused on epigenetic inheritance and three-dimensional chromosome architecture. Following my doctorate, I worked as a postdoc in the lab of Giacomo Cavalli at the IGH in Montpellier, delving into Drosophila epigenetics and genome rearrangements. Since 2021, I have been leading a small team in Zurich, focusing on transgene silencing and its crosstalk with 3D genome folding. While the primary location for that team remains in Zurich for another 2 years, I hope you can meet them during occasional visits to the IBMP.

I am very much looking forward to the opportunity to connect with each of you, both personally and professionally.
