Welcome to Jackson PETER
arrived in early January in the Plant epigenetic regulation and inheritance team.
Jackson did his doctorate in Joseph Schacherer’s team “Intra-specific variation and evolution of genomes” at GMGM. His thesis focused on the dissection of the genotype-phenotype relationship by genome-wide association studies in the yeast S. cerevisiae. This work was carried out using data from the France Génomique project “1002 yeast genomes”.
He is now moving from yeast to the plant model: his work will be to analyze high-throughput sequencing data in order to identify and characterize damaged genomic regions, the transcripts produced by these same regions as well as the associated epigenetic modifications.
Jackson has just been hired for two years as a research engineer on a Jean Molinier project funded by the ANR.
