Welcome to Nikolay MANAVSKI and Bart RYMEN
Nikolay Manavski completed his thesis under the supervision of Udo Wienand and Reinhold Brettschneider at the University of Hamburg. He elucidated the function of the maize PPR protein ZmPPR6. For his first post-doctoral fellowship he joined Dario Leister’s/Jörg Meurer’s team at the Ludwig Maximilians University Munich to study the control of RNA metabolism by RNA-binding proteins in plant chloroplasts.
Kayo joined Kamel Hammani’s team with two-year Marie Curie fellowship. He is interested in manipulation of organellar gene expression by artificial RNA-binding proteins.
Bart Rymen completed his thesis under the supervision of Gerrit Beemster and Dirk Inzé at the University of Ghent. He studied leaf growth response to drought and cold stress. For his first post-doctoral fellowship he joined Keiko Sugimoto’s team (RIKEN, Japan) to study The temporal dynamics of histone modifications and gene expression during wound-induced dedifferentiation.
Bart joined the team of Todd Blevins with two-year ANR funding. He will investigate the mechanisms behind the rapid silencing of novel stress-induced transposons insertions.
